Strech Marks and Tiger Stripes

Hello my beautiful Farminsteadicals followers! Today’s article will be on the bitter sweet stretch marks. Now before we get all crazy debating whether or not we should try and get rid of our precious tiger stripes I would like to point out that there are various causes of stretch marks, pregnancy is not the only one. Also, I know I am not the only mom out here who treasures my daughter and everything about her and our journey together BUT hate my stretch marks. I would be lying if I said I never get a little blue after scrolling through pre-pregnancy pictures. I would never go back I have no regrets, its just cosmetic and now I have the most amazing prize in the world ( my daughter). However, if I could have my daughter, and our journey from conception and no stretch marks…… I would have no complaints with that.

Now with this article, I cannot really verify quite yet that this is a perfect solution because its a recent creation to me…. I am using it currently but lazily. I will say, that is not for lack of results. My marks have definitely begun to lighten up and get less…deep if you will. I made this remedy about a month ago and I should be applying it twice or three times a day, but I am a forgetful mother with a lot of other things gong on and to be honest I have probably only put it on 10 times. That being said, I have used it 10 times and have already noticed results. I’ve made a personal goal for myself to try and use it ATLEAST once a day. We will see if I can get there.

For all you amazing moms and fantastic humans who maybe aren’t moms but we know you have an important story as well who are more organized then me and can remember this type of stuff regularly. It should work wonders for you. You’ll have to let me know I would love to share success stories, testimonials or before and after pics, anonymous or credited. Okay enough of my blabber I’ll tell you what I did now.

When I was growing up, my mom had an aloe plant that was my best friend being the rough kid that I was. This thing cured everything and it didn’t burn when you put it on like everything else did. Aloe Vera is the skins best friend, I’m sure you have heard of it for sunburns but did you know it can heal many other skin ailments as well? Another famous product in my house hold is coconut oil which is also amazing for your skin and hair. So I combined them. Many people know coconut oil is a great moisturizer and is good for wrinkles and face lines. If you didn’t know that, you do now!

I took a full Aloe leaf and cut it in half length wise so I had like 2 halves of a PBJ. All the gooey aloe gel on the inside was exposed. I put both halves in a pot with about a cup and a half of organic coconut oil. High heat, brought to a boil and then left for 2 minutes at a boil. I removed from heat, cut the aloe into tiny pieces and put the mixture in a shallow tupper ware container so I could access it easily. Once it cooled I rubbed it all over my marks. At first I put my concoction in the fridge, but when I went to rub it on, it was too solid and wouldn’t spread. So, I took it out of my fridge and put the mixture in a cabinet in an air conditioned room, so its cool but not cold. You don’t want it to get too hot either because it turns into an oily mess.

Aloe contains  Auxin and Gibberellins which are hormones, and this is what helps it to having healing and anti inflammatory properties. I hope this helps you to FEEL beautiful again, even though you are beautiful without it. Let me know how it goes!

xoxo
